Google announces a slew of Chrome OS features to help extend enterprise usage
As businesses have shifted to work from home this year, running on the internet has grown to the norm, and it sets out that Chrome OS was an operating system developed for cloud-based applications. But most company use cases are a bit more complicated, and Google introduced some new characteristics today to make it more manageable for IT to share machines operating Chrome OS.
While the change to the cloud has been continuing across the current few years, the pandemic has urged companies to pass quicker, says John Maletis, project manager for engineering and UX for Chrome OS. Matelis also added that with COVID-19, the requirement for that product, dispersed workforce with some workers in the office, but frequently working from home is indeed in the sights of businesses everywhere, and it is swiftly accelerating that move.
To that end, Cyrus Mistry, group product manager at Google states that they want to perform it more simply for IT to achieve Chrome OS and they’ve added a bundle of peculiarities to support. For beginners, they have created a free zeal tool that lets IT get the situation of the land of which applications are available to run on Chrome OS, and which aren’t. The tools issue a report with three shades: green is suitable to go, yellow is likely, and red is not set.
To help with the following categories, the company also published the availability of Parallels for Chrome OS, which will empower companies with Windows applications that can’t run on Chrome OS to work them natively in Windows in a virtual machine. Mistry answers that companies running Windows this way will want to issue higher-end Chromebooks with the resources to manage this procedure, but for companies with critical Windows applications, this is a great way to prolong the usage of Chromebooks to a wider population of users.
Mistry once described that we can do what’s named zero-touch, which is the devices can be previously obtained by the manufacturers, which indicates they will comprehend the domain and they can quickly drop-ship instantly,”. That means these machines are outfitted with the right settings, systems, applications, certificates, and so out, as though IT had set up the device for the user.
In another bow to making life more comfortable for IT, Google is donating a new set of certified applications like Salesforce, Zoom, and Palo Alto Networks that have remained verified to work well on Chrome OS. Finally, the company declared that it will be allowing multiple virtual work areas with the capacity to drag-and-drop between them, along with the capability to arrange tabs and search for tabs in the Chrome browser, which should be set in the next couple of periods.
As Maletis pointed out, the company may have stayed ahead of the market when it issued Chrome OS around a decade ago, but this year has shown that companies necessitate the cloud to stay in running and Chrome OS is an operating system developed from the ground up for the cloud.
