How long does it take to redesign a website?
A website redesign can take 45 to 90 days or more, depending on the complexity of the project and the demands that the website must satisfy. Web design may appear to be a dark art at times, and a complete redesign might appear to be a scary idea. As we are the web development company in India the team at iROID Technologies is on a mission to simplify every area of website development and design, cutting through the jargon and walking you through each stage of what we do. To give you a sense of how the process works, we guide you through a typical website redesign in this blog.
Three Steps to Redesigning Your Website
Clients come to us for website redesigns for a variety of reasons. The most common issue is that the website is underperforming - they aren't getting enough traffic and aren't capturing enough leads. There is typically a design motive as well: their present site appears worn and outdated in comparison to competition sites.
Following an initial discussion, we plan a call to begin the process and work through our three-step procedure to get things rolling.
Before beginning, check out What is the difference between web design and web development?
Step 1: Set Timetable: 2-4 weeks
We begin with an hour-long in-depth conversation to explain your needs, providing us with the raw information on which to develop your plan. Based on this conversation, we assign your homework and then follow up with another call, or occasionally two, after we get your assignment. This procedure usually takes a few weeks. As our developers point out, thorough research is essential for getting web design done the first time. We must answer the following questions in order to develop a strategy and design that fulfills your requirements:
→What is the name of your ideal consumer persona?
→Who is most likely to visit your website? What types of new clients are you hoping to attract?
→What is your most important call to action?
→Is it more probable that your clients will access your site via mobile or desktop?
We choose the screen size that should be our primary design goal based on your responses to these questions, as well as the specifics of what your website needs to perform. These requirements drive the strategy and design.

Creating a style tile
After we have answers to our broad strategy questions, we collaborate with our design team to build a style tile. This entails translating any current style guides and you have to ensure they are web-compatible. Colors, typefaces, and other design elements may not function as well on a screen as they do in a brochure, for example. Everything must be carefully considered. We will not modify the typeface or logo unless the customer directly requests it. Instead, we preserve the overall design but modify the individual color hashes. If you do not already have this sort of branding collateral, we will design it from scratch.
Step 2: Blue Sky Design and Wireframing: 1 - 4 weeks
We then proceed to design the site itself. We assign your style tile to a specific designer in our team and put you in touch with them. They begin working, talking with you as they do so. They will work on your site constantly till it is completed.
We do not work from templates since we do not utilize a website builder for our design and development. We begin with a design program, which is the equivalent of a blank canvas in web design. All constraints vanish with our designs, and you are not bound by premade templates. Simply said, it may look like anything you want it to, however, keep in mind that the more pages and templates you use, the more difficult and expensive the process gets.

We'll prototype wireframes and share them with you as part of the design process. We develop them to represent the desired user experience, guiding you through the customer journey on your site as it will be experienced by your consumers. We review the design jointly and lock down any modifications after you are satisfied with the high-resolution mock-ups (we usually go through a few iterations before getting to this point).
Step 3: 90-day website development
Most websites of typical medium complexity should take roughly 90 days to develop. It is possible to work faster than that, but at iROID Technologies, we feel it is not recommended since fine-tuning is required to ensure you finish up with a site that you are satisfied with and that accomplishes what you need it to do. If you come across someone who is willing to turn around a site in record time, you should be wary.
Making your website come to life
We check in with clients once a week through video conference. So that we can make changes in real-time, move things about, and define how we want certain interactive portions of the site to operate. We may ask you how you want things to look and then make it happen. When we show you what we've developed, there should be no surprises.

Three distinct languages will be used to create your website. A rudimentary grasp of these is beneficial since it helps explain the financial implications of various types of websites and features:
HTML: This language is used to control the text and graphics that display on the screen - the content.
CSS: Regulates the look of text and pictures on the screen - what color they are, how big they are, and where they are on the page.
JavaScript: This is the interactive component; if you click here, this occurs. Much of the magic is controlled by this. It is somewhat pricey.
Website copywriting
Some clients prefer that we write the text for their website and update it. Our content writers can handle this, but there will be an extra charge. If you're interested in copywriting, please book a call with us. Otherwise, if you have any current text that you are comfortable with, we will incorporate it into the site once it is completed. If you want to partner with iROID Technologies for continuous content development, we will begin a separate content process at the same time, developing material that will increase inbound leads for you.
Interactive Extras
Some typical interactive components of web design, such as a few interactive forms with lead-capture tools or a live chat option, are simple to implement. These kinds of interactive components can be created fast and easily - they are at the low end of JavaScript development. However, if you begin to incorporate anything more intricate and customized, such as a price calculator or a quiz, it gets more time demanding, and the cost rises accordingly.
Customers sometimes don't recognize that what they want necessitates a significant amount of JavaScript since they don't grasp how websites are made and why a certain interactive widget adds a significant amount to their web build. A cost-benefit analysis might be difficult to do in terms of value. However, as a general rule, having a pricing calculator on your website never hurts.

End Note
This blog by the top web development companies in India contains some excellent examples of interactive elements. However, not everyone has the type of requirements that allows for this. It may be more of a luxury item than a necessity. We can assist you in making that decision, or you could consider launching your site and then contracting an add-on bit of extra coding (at an hourly rate) in six months. If you want to learn more about the cost of certain interactive elements or the cost of a website redesign in general, check out our form here.
